Ok, so I had to work this past Saturday, but I made sure that we made up for lost time on Sunday when temps hit 70 degrees. Whew! Since my last journal entry, we managed to construct the new wooden bench…..it’s absolutely gorgeous, by the way…..ahem….moving along…..we redesigned our diamond shaped bed by digging up all existing plants, thinning them out and adding english cottage garden seeds to it. I suck when it comes to seeds, so I figure the more experience you have, the better you’ll eventually get. With any luck, they will germinate and it will be a great view from the bench if it works out. lol
We spray painted the columns of the gazebo and terribly miscalculated the number of cans necessary for full coverage. I will have to pay yet another visit to Home Depot so that we can be done with that and move on to sealing the deck. I finished planting the small summer flowering bulbs that I received last week. Now, I will have to figure out where to put the beautiful canna…..amazingly, it seems that I am quickly running out of space.
I’m still fighting a losing battle with my lawn. I detest having to deal with it at all. I’ve been playing with the idea of getting rid of it altogether and just having beds throughout the property. But I suspect, once that is done, I will regret it. So, I continue fighting……maybe I should just pony up and hire out that labor…..I wouldn’t miss it at all. /rant.
