Very confusing weather!

snow pic Very confusing weather!

In the span of one week we began with a couple of inches of snow and concluded the week with 75 degree sunshine!  I was deathly afraid that the newly sprung tulips and daffodils would croak under the weight of the snow, but they are doing fantastically well!  Carisa and I spent this past weekend blowing away leaves, chopping down offending brush around the AC unit, blowing more leaves off the deck and the gazebo floor and buying topsoil for the new veggie bed.  We managed to cut down the ornamental grasses and rake out the bed surrounding the pond.  Everything looks crisp and clean, but we know that we are way behind schedule and I have to work next weekend.

No worries though.  We have a plan of action.  Fortunately, daylight saving time is upon us.  This will give me time to get some things done during the week.  I will plant johnson’s blue geranium tonight, will rake piles of leaves to mulch beds tomorrow and will plant a few stray plants before the weekend.  I will try to get as much done as humanly possible before the hot weather sets in.  At that point, I will be toast and will only have enough energy to water my beloved plants.  Stay tuned…….
